An Albion Nord space demands not only to be admired, but to be engaged with, enjoyed and lived in. An from expansive townhouses to occasional tables, extraordinary care is taken over every last corner β€“ because they believe that exceptional craft never goes out of style.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SPACES ARE THOSE WITH SOUL

Having launched their inaugural furniture collection, and with a burgeoning catalogue of curated & found objects in their online store, interior design practice Albion Nord were keen to place greater emphasis on the e-commerce side of their business.

Their existing portfolio site, built on WordPress, also housed their shop, powered by WooCommerce. With a number of oversize, made to order and specialist pieces in their inventory, the Albion Nord team were finding it increasingly difficult to manage and process customer orders with the limited functionality of their existing online store. Following a conversation with Not Studio, the decision was made to separate their retail from their design portfolio, migrating their retail over to a completely new Shopify e-commerce store.

Strategically this would mean that in future, if required, there would be an opportunity to rebrand the store independently to the design studio. Practically, the migration to Shopify 2.0 would enable the team to make use of the e-commerce platform’s powerful and flexible feature set, fuelling their next phase of growth.

DESIGNING FOR GROWTH WITH SHOPIFY 2.0

Where cost and time are key factors in a project, we will often work with clients to select a pre-existing Shopify 2.0 theme which already includes key features and functionality required by the brief.

Working within Albion Nord’s established brand palette, we settled on an appropriate theme and set about the process of translating their design language into a rich and fully-formed e-commerce journey. Taking cues from their elegant classicism, warm tones and modern, tactile approach, the resulting site feels restful, assured and welcoming; a place where the customer is invited to browse, to linger, and to soak up the elegant atmosphere of tradition, craft and quality.

Warm, textural product imagery was carefully curated to add depth and a sense of space to pages across the site, while engaging video content was added to tell the story of the Albion Nord collections, and their focus and respect for craftsmanship.
