In the fast-paced world of an international fashion week, capturing the essence of a brand in a single moment can be a monumental task. Not Studio took on this challenge head-on when they partnered with Nordstrom to create a behind-the-scenes fashion film at MSGM's show during Milan Fashion Week, with a 24-hour turnaround time. This case study delves into how Not Studio managed to encapsulate the tension, artistry, and sheer excitement that are the hallmarks of any high-profile fashion event.

Behind the scenes

The primary challenge was the tight deadline. Fashion Week is a whirlwind of activity, and capturing it in real-time required a nimble and efficient approach. Additionally, the fashion film needed to resonate with Nordstrom's premium followers while staying true to MSGM's brand identity.

Given the tight schedule, pre-production was streamlined. The team collaborated closely with makeup artist Lynsey Alexander to understand the aesthetic vision for MSGM's collection, and shooting schedules were meticulously planned. The team was backstage at Milan Fashion Week, cameras rolling, capturing everything from the makeup application to the final adjustments on the garments. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the tension and excitement that precede any major fashion event.

Post-Production & final fashion film

With only 24 hours to turn the footage into a finished fashion film, the editing team worked tirelessly. They sifted through the footage to select the most compelling moments, piecing them together to create a narrative that was both engaging and true to the brands involved.

The final product was a captivating behind-the-scenes fashion film that received rave reviews from both Nordstrom and MSGM. It not only showcased the artistry and tension behind a major fashion event but also aligned perfectly with the branding objectives of both companies.
